As we head into week six of the UK lockdown, many people are likely looking for new ways to entertain themselves. Businesses with furloughed team members (or where the directors are furloughed employees themselves) may be keen to prepare for getting back to work again. Though a return to work may not be an option at the moment, it does not mean you cannot facilitate and support employees training from home.
If you have furloughed employees (or been furloughed yourself) you are allowed to complete training whilst on furlough. However, as an employer, you must ensure that you are paying furloughed employees at least the minimum wage for time spent on training.
There are lots of free courses online but we strongly recommend you use this site https://www.myworldofwork.co.uk/learn-and-train/find-free-online-courses to find course providers.
There are so many courses available for free at the moment that offer the chance to up-skill your team. This will have long term benefits for you and your team.
You don’t have to be furloughed to use these resources and benefit from the free online training available - I am actually looking at completing some of the Open University courses for ‘fun’. Courses that don’t really align with Mint but are things I have always been interested in learning about.
Well worth a look!
